My blog

Here is the blog I was required to create for ceramic sculpture.  Creating this blog showed me how being able to recall the process, as well as, the finished work is an equally enjoyable and informative experience and tool.  This is a picture of my blog on the very same blog.  It's a blog within a blog!

Here are the pieces before the bisque fire.  I pre-drilled hole in each one so that they would later be easily assembled on a threaded rode.

Project 3

SKETCH!

A lot of my pieces ran because of thick application of glaze.  I was able to salvage most of the pieces by cutting the excess glaze with a tile saw and sanding them down on the belt sander.

Just painted the pedestal, and waiting for the glue to dry for the threaded rode.  One thing that I did not anticipate was how tiresome it would be screwing the first couple of nuts more than half way down the threaded rod.

Working with LEDs and soldering were both new processes and materials for me.  I learned both rather fast and it became an enjoyable exercise.

LEDS!

Most of the pieces would rest on a nut and washer to help balance and cut down on pressure to the lower pieces

Here is the completed piece in my work space.  But wait how does it glow without being plugged into the wall?
